Overall, I am very impressed with FreeNAS. It offers access to the ZFS file system which has been a reliable backup solution for my personal files. I’ve tried messing with Windows Home Server and CentOS, but for simplicity sake FreeNAS is very user friendly. If you’ve got an extra computer laying around and need to back up your data, I would definitely recommend putting it to use.
